Presenter Spotlight: When Two Pilates Teachers Meet on a Plane...
Pilates Pedagogy June 4 -7, 2026
Some moments at Heirloom Springs become instant legend, like the time two teachers met on the connecting flight from Charlotte to Lynchburg, discovered they were both presenting at the same retreat, and became instant Pilates BFFs.
Karen Sanzo and Kristen Davis spent that weekend two years ago in the barn, deep in conversation, swapping ideas, sharing techniques, and realizing how much common ground exists between their worlds. Since then, they’ve co-presented in Dallas, continued to collaborate, and stayed close friends.
This year, they return to Heirloom Springs for a joint workshop exploring the rich conversation between classical and contemporary Pilates. Karen, a physical therapist who was originally trained classically and now teaches contemporary, and Kristen, who was originally trained contemporary and is now a classical educator with a deep movement-science background, will guide us in expanding our perspective — not by choosing sides, but by learning from each other.
Their collaboration reflects the very heart of Pilates Pedagogy: thoughtful dialogue, curiosity, and the understanding that great teaching grows from connection.
Sincerely,
