March arrives and suddenly it is go time.
The quiet pace of winter disappears almost overnight, and now I am officially playing catch up until next winter. Seed trays multiply, soil gets turned, and the garden starts asking for attention all at once.
Early greens and peas go into the ground, pruning wraps up before buds break, and mulch gets pulled back as beds begin to warm. Perennials get tidied and divided, and every sunny afternoon turns into an excuse to stay outside just a little longer.
The bees notice the shift too. Around this time we try to check in only once every three weeks, opening hives on warm days to assess whether they need more space and additional boxes, and keeping an eye out for early spring swarms.
March is energetic and a little chaotic in the best way. Everything is waking up, and there is no slowing it down now.
See you outside!
