April feels like a long exhale.

The garden is officially awake now, and every day brings

something new. Seedlings move from trays into the ground, early vegetables are sown directly into the beds, and mulch goes down everywhere to keep moisture in and weeds guessing. We are still exercising caution with tender plants, waiting until after Mother’s Day to put anything in that could be harmed by a late freeze, and we’re also making sure everything looks beautiful for our first retreat in April.

Fruit trees bloom almost overnight, herbs begin offering their first harvests, and the whole place hums a little louder. This is the month where daily check ins matter. A missed walk through the garden can mean you miss something wonderful.

The bees are growing fast too. Boxes get added, space is managed carefully, and everything feels very alive and very busy.

April asks you to stay present. Things change quickly, and that is part of the joy.
